Comments
Orpheus now supports .doc and .docx file formats in addition to PDF and images. This has been a fairly regular request from users, especially vocalists.
Various maintenance work was also bundled into this release – bug fixes, and some API upgrades.
Maeve Lander is a software developer by day, trumpeter and arranger by night. She created Orpheus ~8 years ago, when Android was first born. It has gone through iteration over the years, but has always held true to the original vision; a minimalist sheet music reader that just does one thing, really well.

Maeve, this app is really well designed, just the functionality I need and nothing more, which makes the interface simple and quick when my mind is on playing not ‘scrolling’. I spent the last twenty years of my career designing software and apps, so I know how hard it is to make something look simple, well done!
I have two requests which would really improve it for me. Firstly, and mainly, I would like the double tap to, not only zoom in, but also take me into edit mode at the point where I can annotate the music. Conductors are used to players making pencil notes very quickly and two taps versus two taps, a tap on the edit button and a tap on the pencil, would speed up the sequence of actions I seem to use most under pressure.
The second one is that the edit complete tick would take me back two menu levels, to the main menu, not one. This is a ‘nice to have’, but I have lost count of the times that I’ve annotated something, ticked to save and then the foot pedal doesn’t work because I’m still in the first edit mode. As you can guess, not moving to the next page, when needed, can cause ‘conductor glare’ ????
Many thanks, Chris Tyler
