Can I store files on an SD card?

Not currently, sorry. This is due to both Apple and Google restricting access to the file system for security reasons. Your sheet music must be stored within the /Orpheus folder on your device, or in Dropbox or Google Drive.

If you see a field labeled “Specify SD Card” on Orpheus’s Settings screen, then you are on an old version of the Android app, and you may be able to use a hacky method of getting Orpheus to see your files on an SD card. Give this a try:

  1. Navigate to your sheet music folder via ES File Explorer
  2. Long press the folder until a check box appears
  3. Select the “properties” menu item from the “more” menu
  4. The full path will be revealed
  5. Copy that file path into the field in Orpheus settings.

It has gone through iteration over the years, but has always held true to the original vision; a minimalist sheet music reader that just does one thing, really well.
