Need help with Orpheus? You’re in the right place!

Offline mode for Dropbox

Internet access is NOT required once a chart exists in Orpheus’s cache. Charts can be cached in several different ways:

  • When a chart is opened in Orpheus for the first time, it is cached
  • Cache all charts function via Orpheus => Settings => Cache all charts.

Internet access IS required for a few things:

  • When you first create an account or login
  • When you first link your Dropbox or Google Drive to Orpheus via “Settings”
  • To import a new Dropbox or Drive folder via “Music Folders”
  • The first time you open a chart (if chart has not been cached using “Cache all charts”)
  • To fetch new charts added to your Dropbox or Drive

Recommendation

If you expect to be using Orpheus a lot when there is no wifi available, consider storing files locally in the /Orpheus directory on your device. OR use the “Cache all charts” function to ensure files stored in Dropbox and Drive are available offline.   Do this at a time/place where you have a good WiFi connection. It will do exactly like it says – cache all your files. It can take a pretty long time if you have a lot of files so put the kettle on, and wait patiently for it to finish. 🙂

Once charts are cached they load quickly in the future without any delay. It will also mean you can access your charts offline via Orpheus.

Thanks Maeve. I am singing in a church choir and this fits the budget, provides the essentials for amateur vocalists. Would you consider adding a Link to Google Drive feature?
