Need help with Orpheus? You’re in the right place!

What file formats can I use?

Orpheus can handle the following file formats: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, DOC, DOCX

PDF is the recommended format because it is high res, good contrast ratio (for readability), and is a universal format that all Android devices and computers can handle. A lot of digital sheet music is distributed in PDF format, and it’s generally the format that scanners with ADF spit out. If you need help converting your sheet music to PDF there is a tutorial here.

Maeve Lander is a software developer by day, trumpeter and arranger by night. She created Orpheus ~8 years ago, when Android was first born. It has gone through iteration over the years, but has always held true to the original vision; a minimalist sheet music reader that just does one thing, really well.

Is it possible to import music you have written from a program such as guitarPro without having to create a pdf

Orpheus supports PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF. If your program exports in one of those formats, then yes, you can use it in Orpheus. If your guitarPro export is some other format then no.
