Need help with Orpheus? You’re in the right place!

How do I connect a foot pedal to turn pages while I’m playing?

Orpheus has been tested and is compatible with the following Bluetooth page turners:

In Orpheus go to Settings > Enable foot pedal. Make sure your pedal is paired correctly with your device and it should work right away with no further configuration.

Orpheus uses a standardised left/right/up/down control to communicate with any bluetooth keyboard or page turn device. This is an industry standard, so it is highly likely to work with ANY bluetooth page turner. However, the brands mentioned above have been fully tested and are definitely 100% compatible. 🙂

Are there plans to develop any kind of page turning capability via a smart watch? I’m an organist (and have plenty of pedals to worry about!) — adding a page turning pedal isn’t very feasible.

Very cool idea David, I’ll add that to our requests list and consider it in the future.
PS. I wonder if a TAP pedal like this might be more your style?

I have just gotten the Air Turn pedal and it is not working. It is paired and works great with planning center music stand but it’s not turning pages in orpheus. Any hints or tips?

You should be able to turn pages within a multipage chart. But you will not be able to turn between charts. This is by design, resulting from a lot of feedback requesting that it should be impossible to accidentally turn past the end of the chart. Please test again, making sure you are testing with a chart that has multiple pages and I think you will find it works 🙂

I just downloaded your FREE version. Love it! I sing in a choir have always hated hauling paper music scores around.

Question: Is there a feature to mark a coda or repeat shortcut that will go the the right spot for the coda or beginning of the repeat, so I don’t have to “turn” multiple changes while trying to sing? For paper scores, you normally have your finger on the page you need to turn back to. I would love to have a similar feature in the app.

Great to hear you’re enjoying the app. No, there is not currently a Coda/DS/Repeat feature, though it is a feature I may look at adding in the future. In the meantime, a lot of users find a foot pedal helps turn multiple pages more quickly.

I have a Roland XL705 piano. Do you know if I will be able to turn pages using the 2 leftmost pedals? This worksworks within the Roland eco-system and was wondering if it would also work with Orpheus. Thank you

Cool! Checking the user manual for the Roland XL705 it does not have technical information about exactly how that pedal functions. However, I can see it is Bluetooth, and it is highly likely that it works using the industry standard left/right function (same as a left/right arrow on a keyboard). If this is the case, then it should pair with your tablet and work perfectly to turn pages in Orpheus. If you have the piano yourself it should be a simple matter to test and confirm this with the free version of Orpheus. Please do post back here with the answer! I am sure other users of the Roland XL705 piano would be interested to confirm if it works.

Hi, i’m a singer and like everybody these days, find myself working on lots of virtual/ video projects. It would be amazing if the app had an auto scroll feature, being able to set the pace of the scrolling with a metronome marking. It would allow for hands and pedal free music reading, invaluable for recording and live performance!

Hello,
I just bought an Android 9.0 Onyx BOOX MAX3 eink 13.3 eink screen tablet. Orpheus works properly. That’s great.
I am looking for a bluetooth Page turner android APP that could work on an separated android smartphone to replace a Page turner pedal.
I have found one for Iphone , but this app is exclusively made to control Pages in the IGIGbook app:
https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id402624805
https://www.igigbook.com/i-gig-book-pager.aspx

Would you like to develop a similar “simple bluetooth” Page turner app ?

It could be done with 2 big keys on the touchscreen or by using th proximity sensor.

like in An another app that can control start and stop loops records by proxymity sensor :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kovaluu.beatsandloops&hl=en_US

I have found one app to play and stop music :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.argonremote.proximitysensorcounter

thank you for your very good work.

Hi, i love Orpheus so far and use iot on an Samsung S7 tablet. my question is, can i set the page turner to just scroll a few lines down the page at a time? i am trying to play guitar tab and on PDF’s of more than 2 pages the turner seems to jump from the first page to the last.

Hi Tim. Firstly, please make sure you’re using the latest version of Orpheus – there was an issue some while back with foot pedal turning two pages at a time but that has been fixed now. Then, to get the page turner just doing a few lines at a time I’d recommend putting the page into “vertical scroll” mode. This is done by opening any chart, then go to the page view settings (little cog icon in the top action bar), and use the toggle switch to turn vertical scroll ON.
