How do I update the app?

You can choose to update your Android device’s apps individually or allow them to be updated automatically.

To update individually

  1. Open the Google Play Store app google-play-icn
  2. Touch the Menu icon Google Play Store menu-icn > My Apps.  Apps with available updates are labeled “Update.”
  3. Select individual apps and touch Update.

Tip: In some cases, you may need to restart your device to update an app.

Set automatic updates on your device

  1. Open the Google Play Store app google-play-icn
  2. Touch the Menu icon Google Play Store menu-icn > My Apps. Apps with available updates are labeled “Update.”
  3. Select the app you want to update.
  4. Touch Menu menu2-icn and check the box next to “Auto-update.”

Tip: You may want to select Auto-update apps via WiFi only in order to keep mobile data usage to a minimum.

Hi Maeve,

I bought the app and use it hapily 🙂 Now I got myself a new, large screen device, but how do I transfer the app with music and annotations to my new device? When I download the app from the Playstore, I get the free version again.

Unfortunately there is no elegant way to preserve annotations, set lists etc in the case of a tablet upgrade. A fresh install of the app on your new device will require you to set up from scratch. I am thinking of adding a backup feature, or import/export in the future which would improve this in the future.

That said, there is a hacky work-around if you want to give it a go. You should find the cached PDF annotations layer in the app data persistent cache folder. There is some variation to where different tablet models / android versions store this. But if you explore with a file manager you should find it. On my Samsung tablet, it’s at Internal storage > Android/data/com.gramercy.orpheus/files/persistent-cache/. Once you find the folder, try copying it to the new device in the relevant file path. I cannot guarantee this will work, so proceed at own risk! If things don’t work out, you can uninstall the app on the new device, delete any files and folders you created manually, and install fresh.

Just an aside, not referring to the files which have to be re-added/moved, to get to the paid version instead of the free one, you have to be logged in with the same (I assume Google) Gmail account on the new device as the old one. The account where you bought the app. Hope it helps someone!

Sorry, not apotheek 😉
Another question, is it possible to erase an annotation I made last week? With the eraser I can erase annotations from my current session only. And the erase all function is a bit to much 🙂

Yes that is possible. In annotation edit mode, tap an existing annotation. Once it’s selected you should find a trash icon appears.
